A three-year-old Rottweiler named Maddie was walking with his owner in Camborne, England. Maddie’s owner is Nick Lake. When they were walking, Nick suddenly found that his dog had disappeared. But he could not imagine where did the dog go? He searched everywhere but could not find Maddie.
He could not find the dog until night. Then he went home with hoping to find the dog in next day. But he could not sleep. The next morning he went back to the place where Maddie had missed. He looked for the dog everywhere. He spoke to the dog, saying Maddie’s name. After a while, he heard an unusual sound. It just like a dog.
Nick ran quickly to the direction that voice came from. There, Nick able to find that Maddie had fallen down an 80-foot mine shaft. Maddie did not fell into a small mine. It is a large mine shaft about 80 feet deep. Nick could not save the dog alone. He decided to call a rescue team for help. Accordingly, a team of 19 officers arrived at that place to save the dog.
Using their equipment, two members went down into the mine and brought the dog safely. Then, after rescue the dog, they found something surprising. That is, that Maddie was tread water for about 24 hours to stay alive. Of course it was something everyone could not believe. Although it’s amazing, Maddie is a lucky and strong dog. He is truly courageous. Nick, decided to put barriers around the mine to prevent this from happening to other animals.
